You could buy Mike Babcock's home in Michigan

New Maple Leafs coach in the process of selling Northville Twp residence - west of Detroit

By Mark Schadenberg
How much would you pay for a 4,400 square foot 16-year-old house nestled on a treed lot on Stonebrook Court in Northville Township in Michigan?
Would you pay more for it, if you knew who the celebrity seller was?
The lot is just under half an acre, and the 2-storey home has 4 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms.
Mike Babcock is the new Maple Leafs head coach, so his Detroit-area home has now been listed for sale at $799,000.

Babcock signed an 8-year deal with the Leafs in May for about $50 million. Most hockey pundits would say he has earned the contract based on his resume of Olympic gold, a 2008 Stanley Cup ring, and world championships gold. The 52-year-old was bench boss of the Red Wings for 10 seasons, qualifying for the playoffs in all 10 seasons, and twice a finalist for NHL coach of the year (Jack Adams Award). He also coached the Anaheim Ducks to the Stanley Cup Finals after moving up the ranks from the AHL's Cincinnati Mighty Ducks and WHL's Spokane Chiefs.
It's interesting always to look at the public advertisement of homes for famous people as the Multiple Listing Service postings provide some insight into 'lifestyles of the rich and famous' residences.
Northville is northwest of both Dearborn and Livonia, and for OHL fans just a little north of Plymouth where the Whalers were previously located.

The Babcock listing is not the highest price in the area as several mansions have an asking price attached above $1 million. The prestigious Edenberry subdivision appears to have several high-end homes.
The Ontario Real Estate Association only assigns licences to those in the Ontario marketplace, so I could not really represent a buyer in the U.S.
Next, however, I'm sure shutterbugs and media scrums will watch to see where Mike Babcock resides in the GTA.
