If you may request the numbers for May of 2017, I may present them to you as a remarkable year continues to post phenomenal sales figures.
May of 2017 in the Woodstock-Ingersoll real estate board (WIDREB) saw 235 transactions posted compared to 157 in May of 2016. Percentages tell the story here as it marks a 50% increase. The increase is even higher when you consider May of 2015 had 131 sales, while May of 2012 tabulated only 97 sales.
The numbers that really jump off the page is the staggering pattern in the higher prices ranges. In May of 2016 there were 58 sales between $300,000 – $750,000. In 2017, that number grew to an astounding 142.
List above is from my June of 2016 blog entry

The average sale price rose to 354,838 in May of 2017 as compared to 284,036 just 12 months ago.
For the first 5 months of 2017 the total transactions number is 825 for a 33% increase when you compare to 2016.
There are more numbers posted here from WIDREB and elsewhere.
If you think 2017 is the year you might be selling, call me today as I can show you charts dating back to 2004 which indicate that the staggering sales numbers seen this year are a concrete example about how strong our market continues to be. You can also look under ‘press releases’ at www.widreb.ca for more evidence.

Tillsonburg Area
Even in very active real estate markets, records are not always broken.
In Tillsonburg in May, 69 units were sold, which was the second best ever total.
The Tillsonburg district board area did report an increase in overall new listings, but overall inventory remains quite low. There were 98 new listings, but that translates into only 1.4 months of inventory turnover rate.

Kitchener-Waterloo
The average price of a detached home is over $590,000 or a 35.3% increase over the last 12 months.
There were 293 detached homes sold in the month, which represented only a modest increases of 3.8%. The real leap this time was in semi-detached houses at 64, but representing a 39% increase.
The average price in all styles continues to rise significantly as the price of a townhouse is now 361,000 on average -- for a 30% increase.
The average days on market is now just 12 as compared to 24 in May of 2016.
